The International MBA program is exactly the same regardless of the language track. Therefore, everything from the admissions process and class size, to the program content and faculty is the same. The International MBA program in its entirety (i.e. both tracks) is ranked.
The faculty is assigned according to functional area not by language tracks or programs. More than 50% of our faculty is bilingual.
You will be assigned to a class or section of 45-60 students for Core Periods 1, 2 and 3. In the change modules, the sections of the same language track will be mixed in order to increase your networking opportunities. During the elective period you will have the opportunity of mixing with students from other sections, language tracks and exchange students from other schools.
Yes, during what we call IMBA+, you can customize your MBA by choosing electives, dual degrees, several entrepreneurship options, exchange programs and the internship (IMBA in practice). You can also make your program bilingual by selecting electives in English or Spanish. As it is a very intense 1 year program some opportunities will overlap so you will have to decide what your priorities are and manage your expectations accordingly.
The Academic Department will inform you about all the options available at the beginning of the program. It will depend on the sector in which you would like to do the internship. Take into account that in the November intake the internship will take place approximately from June to August and in the April intake from January to March.
Yes, the International MBA is recognized by the European Framework of Education and students will acquire 60 ECTS credits.

We have a rolling admissions process and so there are no application deadlines. However, given the limited number of places in the program and the time needed for visas and securing financing, it is highly recommended that you apply approximately one year prior to program commencement.
Providing we have received all the documents and the information needed to assess your candidacy the process duration is approximately 6 weeks.
The entire application is important and will be reviewed in detail therefore we recommend that you pay close attention to the application form and all documents. In particular we look at your work experience and career development, international exposure, motivation to do the program, interpersonal skills, academic performance and your English or Spanish language abilities depending on which language track you’re applying to.
The class average is simply a point of reference to bear in mind as every application will be reviewed individually. Most important is the quality of your experience and your career development which will contribute to the learning experience in the classroom.
Your admission will be valid for 2 intakes – the intake you apply to and the following. Please take into account that places are reserved on a first come, first served basis so we highly recommend you to pay the reservation place as soon as possible to ensure if have a seat in your desired intake.
If the Admissions Committee feels you do not meet the profile we are looking for, then you will directly be denied admission to the program. Should this occur, you will only be eligible to reapply after 2 years have elapsed. No, at IE we do not give specific feedback about your no admission due to the large number of applications we receive.

We are looking for highly talented individuals, who come from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, with international exposure, a Bachelor Degree or equivalent and a minimum of three years of professional experience.
Will you need to submit an application form in the language of the track you’re applying (including 3 essays), a language certificate (if applicable), an admission test (GMAT, GRE or IE Test), and supporting documents (1 page curriculum vitae/résumé; 2 recommendation letters; original undergraduate university transcripts and diploma; copies of other relevant degrees; certificates or accreditations; copy of current passport or Spanish ID card: 1 passport-size photo and the application fee of €120). Diversity is a core value at IE and we promote it at all levels (nationality, gender, academic and professional background). For this reason we have an approximate 8% cap on students with the same nationality and so we advise submitting your application as early as possible so you are not affected and can enter the intake for your choice.

The main difference is the student profile - in the Master in International Management the average professional experience is 1 year and in the International MBA it is 5 years. The Career Management Center (CMC) helps you to map your career and provides an advisory service during the International MBA by means of one-to-one sessions, workshops and sessions focusing on different aspects of career management. For additional information see the CMC webpage. In addition three months prior to graduation the CMC will give you access to the Job Board where companies looking for IE talent publish job offers. The role of the CMC will continue after graduation as they provide a lifelong service.
The CMC will be present from day 1 of your International MBA. A counselor will be assigned to each section, and during the launch and accelerate modules this counselor will support you in anything related to career assessment. Experts in the careers and HR fields will share their knowhow with you and inform you of the latest trends in the job market.
This event takes place annually in October and is for both International MBA intakes. During this week we facilitate an area on the campus for national and international companies, attracting upwards of 100 companies, interested in recruiting IE students. Our student body profile is very diverse and as such so are the professional sectors in which International MBA graduates are placed such as consulting, technology, consumer goods, financial services and pharmaceuticals. IE is a very international school and there are companies all around the world that recruit our candidates and look for IE talent. The chances of getting a job outside your home country will depend on your background, your skills and working permits in the desired country. The CMC’s business development team is specialized by sectors and regions, this together with our extensive Alumni network, and worldwide offices, can help you in your job search. In addition to this, you will have access to numerous online resources that will help you to look for jobs in different countries and/or sectors.

On average 10% of our students start up a new venture after graduating and 25% of our alumni are active entrepreneurs at one time during their careers.
Venture Lab is competitive around 25 to 40 projects are typically selected to take part. Only projects that are innovative and investment worthy will go through, there are not a limited number of projects that can go through and all good projects which meet the selection criteria will be successful. Teams must submit a 2 page executive summary and the Selection Committee, composed of professionals with entrepreneurship and/or investment experience, decide which projects are selected.
We offer several entrepreneurship management electives such as independent venturing, family venturing, financial entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. In addition to this you will also have the opportunity to participate in the “knowledge incubator”.

Business Government & Society is a core course and Social Entrepreneurship as an elective in the International MBA program. Additionally, the topic of social responsibility and ethics is addressed throughout the program, in business cases, core and elective classes and the Change in Action module which focuses on global change. Students are also invited to actively participate in areas that interest them and social responsibility is no exception. Students can participate in a number of clubs such as Net Impact or get involved with our Centers of Excellence. We host an annual Social Responsibility Forum, organized by students and alumni, where government decision makers, corporate managers, not-for-profit leaders, alumni and students discuss hot topics in Social Responsibility. The International MBA program is also continuously recognized as being among the best in the Aspen Institute’s Social Responsibility rankings.

We continuously innovate our programs, for example, in 2008 the Change Modules (Launch, Change in Action, and Making Change Happen) were introduced to the International MBA program to prepare students to become change agents and to empower their organizations to change.
We also constantly innovate our teaching methodology through online cases and simulations used in our core courses and electives.

Through our Center for Diversity in Global Management which is dedicated to promoting diversity management of gender, culture, personality and age as a competitive advantage in the corporate world, through reflection, creation of knowledge and the dissemination of know-how. The Center is involved in numerous projects, for example the promotion of African women entrepreneurs and better understanding Islamic economics and finance.
Diversity is represented at all levels of IE. Our student body is comprised of people coming from different types of companies, industries, academic backgrounds and countries.
